Company announced World Clubmaker of the Year 2010
The G.C.A. (Golf Clubmakers Association), based in Austin, Texas,
USA and founded by Golfsmith in 1980 is the oldest association devoted
exclusively to the craft of custom fitting and clubmaking. From
over 6,000 members, a panel consisting of several GCA officials
and other golf clubmaking experts select winners from each state
(U.S.), province (Canada) and around the world. They then choose
the applicant who merits the prestigious title of World Clubmaker
of the Year.
“Although I have seen many good clubmakers graduate”,
said Neil Cooke, Technical Director of Golfsmith Europe “it
rare that you see someone with the drive, ambition, skill, determination
and foresight to really stamp their presence on the world of custom
golf clubs. Derek Murray of ForeGolf is an example of all these
qualities”
This award is a big deal, in fact its the first time the award has
been won outside of the USA. We work hard to give great advice and
build clubs that make better golfers. To have our small but perfectly
formed family business recognised as best in the world makes it
all worthwhile. Although the award has our name all over it, this
is for our customers and anyone who has had a hand in shaping what
ForeGolf is today.
