This is the story of ForeGolf. In 1997, a young fresh faced Derek opened a golf shop in Naas Co Kildare. During a chance conversation at The Czech Open he talked himself onboard the custom fitting tour trucks. This inspired him. So, armed with clubmaking courses and stints to Golfsmith UK, PING and Callaway in USA, he returned to the European Tour. But this time it was as a club builder on the Cleveland Tour Van. Dave Williams was stolen from Cleveland Golf and joined ForeGolf. We built our own tour truck; the only independent tour truck providing all the brands in Naas when we were based at Red Lane Golf Centre in Newbridge in Co Kildare.
In January 2012, we moved the whole show over to Killeen Castle Golf Club, our new home in Co Meath.
We've been building golf clubs a long time. If you're looking for mass-produced clubs built by somebody in a huge factory, go see someone else. But if you want clubs that are built by expert Clubmakers, guaranteed to perform - then come see us.
We always wanted people to understand why our clubs perform so well, it's not because we custom fit them but because we built them. People expect to see a huge showroom full of clubs, but we're not a golf shop. We have a ClubRoom where we put together components to figure out what suits you using the practice range and looking at your ball flight. Then next door we build you a replica of the best performing test club in our WorkShop. We look at what happens when you hit a bad shot and build the club around that, make the club do what you can't.
At our new location at The Long Game Academy at Killeen Castle we've created everything around our workshop. You can see, hear but not quite touch the clubs being built right in front of you.
